Parade of Pleasure is a book by Geoffrey Wagner that was published in 1954. POP, as it is sometimes known,
criticized comic books, movies and paperback books of the day. Although POP contained many of the same criticisms of comic books contained in Seduction of the Innocent, the influence of
POP was significantly less in the US than that of SOTI.

Update October, 2010: New (Old) Parade of Pleasure Found!
Did you know that there were TWO editions of Parade of Pleasure published in 1950's? The first was the version noted in the Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide, which is the edition published in 1954 by
Derek Verschoyle, London. The second one was published by Library Publishers, New York in 1955. The Overstreet Guide implies that the UK version was distributed in the U.S. by Library Publishers, but the U.S. version is an entirely different printing, and it was published the following year.

Update August, 2010: New Parade of Pleasure just released!
After more than 50 years out of print, Parade of Pleasure has come back in print! Pure Imagination just published
a new edition of Parade of Pleasure. This softcover edition features lots of new B&W photos
(omitting some of the original color photos that were in the original POP).
Update September, 2009: Two new Parade of Pleasure books found!
Battlefront #11 and Battle Action #12 are both pictured on the dust jacket
of Parade of Pleasure. However, these books were largely unknown
to POP collectors until SeductionOfTheInnocent.org identified them!
